Welcome

My name is Meghan, and for a few years I've had the honor of working with seniors to create a senior session that is unique, fun, and inspires confidence. I believe in showing up as you are and highlighting your natural beauty + radiance + senior joy.  After almost two decades, it's now your turn for the senior year you've been waiting for. Let's commemorate it with a senior experience that'll you'll love as much as the final images.

We'll meet on location around golden hour (roughly two hours until sunset). You can expect a sneak peek within 24 hours of your session! If you opted for the luxe session, you'll get pro makeup done beforehand.

Within 2 weeks you'll get your online gallery or come in for an ordering session.

Finding the Perfect Outfits

PART ONE

CHOOSE A COLOR PALETTE

THINK ABOUT YOUR LOCATION

COMBINATION FORMULA

You’ll want to keep in mind your location when you’re planning your outfits. For natural locations, like fields and gardens, soft colors and flowy textures look best. For urban locations, bolder colors and patterns work, too. This is a super loose guideline. No matter what location you choose, we’ll work to get clean, plain backgrounds to focus on you as well as backgrounds that really showcase the landscape to maximize variety.

Try wearing a variety of different outfit combination. Here's a few sample combination formulas.

WHITE JEANS + BLUE TOP
BLUE JEANS + NEUTRAL TOP
WHITE, BLUE, OR NEUTRAL JUMPSUIT

WHITE DRESS

Patterns, textures, accessories, and shoes

Patterns: Be aware when choosing patterns that they coordinate! Another note on patterns- sometimes tiny patterns look distorted when photographed from far away, so it’s better to lean towards larger patterns!

Mixing up textures and adding accessories is a little thing that has a huge impact.

Finally, you don't need to change shoes everytime- you'll only see your shoes in 1/3 of the images! I suggest going with one versatile pair of wedges or sandals.

SELECT A TOPIC TO READ MORE

Think about a color scheme and try to have all of your outfits follow this color scheme. An easy way to do this is to have an accent color and stick to neutrals. This will ensure a cohesive gallery.  Check out some palette inspiration below!

Going Pro

THE CASE FOR

When it comes to hair and especially makeup, it’s a good idea to schedule an appointment with a professional makeup artist. The three main reasons are

1. Makeup photographs different than it looks in real life, and a pro will know the right balance to get it perfect on camera.

2. It’s one less thing to worry about

3. This one is for my gals that really don’t wear a whole lot of makeup: even if you’re a makeup minimalist in your daily life, now is one of the only times you’ll need it.

Handing the job off to a professional makeup artist means you don’t have to worry about learning how to do it, they’ll know how to get the “no makeup makeup look” you might want, and you won’t have to purchase any additional products like foundations and lipsticks if you won’t need to use them again.

Makeup & Hair Tips

Do it yourself

That being said, there’s no problem on doing it yourself, I just have a couple of tips!
Makeup:
• I recommend a full face, even if you aren’t typically a makeup wearer
• Camera makeup shows up a little lighter than in person
• A good balance is somewhere between every day and homecoming
• Pay extra attention to defining your lips and cheeks with blush and lipstick + eyes with eyeliner or false lashes. This way, your features will still be defined even for farther away shots.

MAKEUP

HAIR

• Use extra hairspray
• If you're straightening your hair, bring a brush!

Here are some local places that do a great job with hair and makeup!

Your Gallery & Ordering Session

PART Four

Ordering Sessions

HOW IT WORKS

If you're interested in ordering heirloom albums, print boxes, USB drives, and more, than an ordering session might be right for you.

We'll meet at my home for a session reveal then choose your favorite images to feature in your products.

Products include gift prints, mounted prints, linen albums, print boxes, graduation cards, and more.

We will make any customizations right there together.

Any unused credit from an ordering session will be transferred to an online gallery credit. You are able to order prints to your house directly from an online gallery.

Frequently Asked

PART FIVE

Do I need to schedule a consultation?

What if it rains?

Where do I change?

What time is the session?

How can I reach you?

I recommend scheduling a consultation if you have lots of questions, want to talk through different outfit or location options, or you want to see products in person before your ordering session! If not, everything you need to know and everything we need to plan can be covered with a questionnaire I'll send four weeks before your session.

If it looks like it's going to rain, we can make a call to postpone your session date 24-48 hours in advance. We will postpone for the soonest available date!

My handy dandy portable changing tent (no joke)

Roughly two hours before sunset for optimal light. In some cases, we can do a sunrise session.
